At the tender age of fifteen, Wendy Potter first took on the role of Red Sonja, warrior woman out of majestic Hyrkania. Wendy’s acting skills had already been flaunted through a one-woman story-telling act that was featured in schools and libraries all over Eastern Tennessee. She had also done far more puppeteer work then she’d care to admit. Wendy studied under the tutelage of her older brother Dan Potter, who had already spent the better part of 30 years learning the art of steel. Dan introduced Wendy to Robert E. Howard’s works, as well as a plethora of comics at a very early age. Reading stuff like Kull, Marada, Elfquest, and Conan, it’s no surprise they took to theatrical fantasy with such an aptitude. Their show is a colorful edge of your seat display of swords and sorcery (YES, real LIVE swords and sorcery!). Filled with characters anyone can relate to, from an adolescent servant girl to a rampaging Minotaur, watching their show is like watching a comic come to life. Let’s not forget Sonja herself; Wendy’s portrayal of the Hyborian swordswoman will have you believing the red haired vision in chainmail truly is the She Devil with a Sword in the flesh!
Out of costume, Wendy is still earning her merit as a Geek Babe!
